Kimberly Badal BSc, MSc

Founder, Caribbean Cancer Research Initiative (CCRI)

Kimberly Badal is an award-winning cancer researcher and advocate. She completed her Bachelor of Science at York University, Toronto and Master of Science and Radboud University, Netherlands. Since returning to Trinidad and Tobago she has spearheaded several cancer research projects and is the Founder of the Caribbean Cancer Research Initiative (CCRI), a not-for-profit organization that focuses on evidence-based solutions for cancer prevention and management as well as cancer awareness and advocacy. Her current major project with CCRI is to introduce patient navigation for cancer patients that will address the barriers to care they experience. She sits on several local and international committees including the American Cancer Society’s BEACON initiative and the Tobago House of Assembly Research Ethics Committee. She is a York University Bryden “One to Watch” Alumni Award Winner and a Young Leader of the Americas. She is also pursuing her PhD in Molecular Genetics at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine
