Associate Professor and Director of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine

Dr. Brian M. Chang is an associate professor and the director of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Chang received his first dental degrees (DDS) from Seoul National University School of Dentistry in 1989 and the second DDS from University of Southern California in 1993. He completed the postdoctoral prosthodontics residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago in 1996 and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics fellowship training at Columbia University in New York in 1998.

Before coming to the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Chang served as the Section Head of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at Cleveland Clinic-Main Campus, and an associate professor of surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine. ( 2012-2017)

Dr. Chang also served as a Director of the Pre-doctoral Prosthodontics at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine (2006-2012).

Dr. Chang was also tenured and served as Dr. Merritt C. Pederson Endowed Chair Professor and a director of the implant program at the University of Nebraska School of Dentistry (2000-2006).

As a maxillofacial prosthodontist at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Chang’s roles are the direct health care delivery for medically compromised patients, organization of maxillofacial prosthodontic clinic, education, research and a consulting as a part of cancer care team.
