Erica Krisel MPH

Erica serves as a Program Manager for the Global Capacity Development and Patient Support team. She oversees the development and implementation of the global patient support portfolio of work that includes initiatives such as patient navigation; patient, caregiver, and provider education; and accommodation to reduce patient barriers to cancer care, improve patient adherence to treatment, and ultimately improve the quality of life of patients and caregivers during their treatment journey. Erica contributes to the development of the Building Expertise, Advocacy and Capacity for Oncology Navigation (BEACON) Initiative to expand patient navigation to health facilities and organizations in LMICs. Erica works closely with ACS staff leading these endeavors in the US and with ACS’ in-country partners to ensure that these initiatives reflect ACS’ years of learning and experience as well as the specific cultural and technical contexts where ACS is working globally.

Erica has significant experience in program monitoring and evaluation, training design and delivery, and provision of technical assistance. Much of her public health career has been focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and care, both globally and domestically. She holds a Master of Public Health degree in international health from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a minor in Women's Studies, from Colorado College. She served as both a Peace Corps Volunteer and Crisis Corps Volunteer in Malawi in southern Africa.
