Kristie McComb MPH

Kristie directs the Global Capacity Development and Patient Support team at the American Cancer Society which includes the development and implementation of the Strengthening Organizations for a United Response to the Cancer Epidemic (SOURCE) Program, a comprehensive organizational development training and technical assistance program designed to strengthen cancer organizations in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs) to mount an effective response to the local cancer burden and the development and adaptation of ACS signature patient support programs, like patient navigation, to improve cancer treatment adherence. Her team is in the process of developing the Building Expertise, Advocacy and Capacity for Oncology Navigation (BEACON) Initiative to expand patient navigation to health facilities and organizations in LMICs.

With more than 15 years of public health experience, including nine years living and working abroad in Asia and Africa, Kristie has devoted her career to increasing and improving access to services for vulnerable and underserved populations inside of the US and abroad. Previously, Kristie worked with the US Peace Corps in a variety of capacities: at headquarters as both an Evaluation Specialist and Public Health Specialist, and in Mozambique, directing the community health and HIV project. As project director, she trained, mentored, and supervised approximately 70 Volunteers across Mozambique tasked with strengthening the capacity of nascent non-governmental organizations and peer educator groups to better provide HIV care, support, and outreach services.
