Kym Dean RN, BSN, OCN

Kym Dean has been an RN since 1993. Oncology was always been her passion, and she was able to get a job as an inpatient staff RN on an oncology unit in 1994. She was there for 7 years. At that time, she switched to the outpatient oncology infusion center (at the same facility) for 14 years, including 6 months as the assistant manager on the unit. An opportunity came up to not only switch her job, but also the organization she worked for! That is when she became an Oncology Nurse Navigator. The program was new, so she had learned much about navigation on her own as she went along!  She does general multi-site navigation. 4 years ago, she attended her first AONN+ conference and was in awe! She learned so much! Upon returning, she applied to be on an AONN+ committee to further my knowledge. She has been on the Professional Development Committee since that time.
