Director of Nursing, Patient Intake and Navigation Services, Miami Cancer Institute

Morgan Nestingen serves as the Director of Nursing for Intake and Navigation Services at Miami Cancer Institute. She obtained her BSN and MSN at the University of Colorado at Denver, where she is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Systems research and studying the relationship between oncology navigation and timely cancer care during the pandemic. Over the past 13 years, Morgan has specialized in oncology nursing, leadership and care coordination, led the Colorado Cancer Coalition's Patient Navigation Taskforce and founded the Colorado Local Navigator Network in collaboration with AONN+. She currently served on the AONN+ FFL’s Navigation Job Task Analysis taskforce and is conducting multisite research in collaboration with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Research Alliance. In her current role, Morgan leads a team of 40 nurse and patient navigators providing care coordination support to over 8,000 cancer patients throughout their treatment journey each year.
