Nancy Sayegh-Rooney RN, ONN-CG, CTTS

Lung Nurse Navigator, Richmond University Medical Center

Nancy Sayegh-Rooney, RN, ONN-CG, CTTS, has been a nurse for 40 years. For the past six years, she has served as the lung nurse navigator at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island. She received her certification as a tobacco trained specialist from Rutgers University in 2016. In addition to navigating pulmonary patients through their screening and treatment, she has instituted a successful smoking cessation program and an outreach program to middle and high school students in Staten Island, NY. Efforts in cancer awareness, screen and prevention are her focus. Her responsibilities in her navigation role include educator for public and staff awareness for smoking cessation and prevention, in addition to her patient advocate role.


A graduate of Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing she is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at Chamberlain University with an anticipated graduation date of 06/2018. Her career experience includes emergency room nursing, radiation oncology and endoscopy. She served as a preceptor for nurses developing skills in endoscopy for twenty-five year.
