Tara C. O'Brien MBA

Tara has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Services, Inc. since 1997. She previously worked in other positions within the organization prior to leading the organization whose mission it is to “Enhance Health, Life and Survivorship”. As CEO, Tara creates strategies and policies to insure that comprehensive support services are available to individuals facing any type of cancer in our community. As the leader of a local nonprofit organization, Tara has experience of identifying community needs, creating client-centered impact, and raising and establishing funds to meet these needs while being effective stewards of donor support. Tara also serves as a “Professor Of Practice” faculty member at Salem College in the NonProfit Management and Community Leadership Department and has taught Organizational Planning & Management and Leadership & Governance. Tara holds a master of business administration degree from Wake Forest University and a bachelor of arts degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
