Yamile Leon MSN, RN, OCN, ONN-CG(T)

Yamile Leon is the supervisor of the Patient Navigation Department at the Miami Cancer Institute in Miami, FL. Mrs. Leon has over 15 years of experience in oncology nursing and 10 years' experience as an oncology nurse navigator. Her nursing career began in 2004 as a staff nurse at South Miami Hospital working on an oncology/medical-surgical floor. In 2010, she transitioned to the Center for Women and Infants at South Miami Hospital as an Oncology Patient Care Navigator. She worked there for five years, and, during that time, she also started navigating patients in Baptist Health South Florida's Lung Screening Program. In November 2015, Yamile accepted a position as the thoracic nurse navigator at the Miami Cancer Institute and was promoted to her new supervisor role in 2020.
